In terms of research capacity, the consortium members have committed themselves to contribute 201 researchers and 93 PhD candidates in 2003. This numbers has now grown to respectively 285 and 100. In terms of the disciplines represented, the consortium’s spectrum covers all of the relevant areas, and most institutes have performed multidisciplinary work within their own programmes.

Selection procedures

The ambition to become and to continue to be a leading Network of Excellence requires an explicit policy to monitor the quality of the work done within the network. High quality is a prerequisite for the task of spreading excellence in the European Research Area and beyond. In order to fulfill these requirements, IMISCOE has developed clear selection procedures.
