MPI Europe joins the IMISCOE Network

IMISCOE is very happy to welcome MPI Europe as a new member institute as from April 2015. This brings th total number of IMISCOE member institutes at a record number of 36!

Watch keynote of Will Kymlicka on solidarity in diverse societies

On 29-30 January 2015, the European University Institute in Florence and IMISCOE have jointly organized a conference on “Mobility in Crisis: Is Europe becoming more mobile during the economic crisis or is European mobility in crisis?”. It was opened by Will Kymlicka (Queen’s University, Canada). Watch his key note lecture on Building Solidarity in Diverse Societies: Moving Beyond Neoliberal Multiculturalism and Welfare Chauvinism.»

PhD Training Workshop - Geneva June 25, 2015

As part of the recently launched IMISCOE PhD Network, a special PhD training program is offered at the conference in Geneva this year.

 

The program will open with a key note speech by Zana Vathi (Edge Hill University), winner of the Maria Ioannis Baganha PhD Thesis Award 2012. The opening speech will be followed by two intensive training sessions around the following topics:

  • Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation

  • Transnationalism

  • Post-Migration Urban Settings

  • Mixed Methodology

To participate in the IMISCOE PhD Training session submit a 250 word abstract for a paper on one of the four themes by the 8th of April by email to phdtraining@imiscoe.org

PhD Winterschool

The winterschool 2016 will take place in the week from January 18 to January 22 in Liège. It will be organized by the Centre d’Études de l’Ethnicité et des Migrations (CEDEM). More information will follow.
