Cross Cluster Innovative concepts for alternative migration policies
The aim is to organise a workshop Innovative concepts for alternative migration policies. This workshop has the explicit purpose to discuss new, alternative and innovative approaches to the management of migration. Participants are asked to produce brief overviews (3-5 pages) of innovative policy concepts (either existing or new ones), which will be subjected to close scrutiny and criticism during the two-day workshop sessions. The workshop, the conference volume and the policy briefing paper should be seen as a first explorative attempt at evaluating fresh ideas for migration policy making. The workshop should also be seen as an experimental laboratory to test new lines of research and policy thinking that should feed into current and future work within the IMISCOE research network. Through wide dissemination of the workshop products the outcomes of the workshops should also stimulate debate and new thinking at the policy level.
