Gender, Generation and the Family in International Migration
This cross cluster working group seeks to frame a common research agenda on the interrelated issues of gender, generation and the family in international migration, with a strong emphasis on the policy contexts in which these issues have to be seen. In particular, this working group aims to address the various interlinkages between gender (constructions), changing forms of family migration and changing constellations of the family as a result of migration on the one hand, with the political regulation of migration and wider state policies in the context of welfare state policies and their effects on integration and social cohesion, on the other. The ultimate goal is to set the basis for common research activities, including publications, conferences, and project applications in the future.
