Biography
Caroline Hornstein Tomic is Head of the Operative Division at Germany's Federal Agency for Civic Education. Before taking up the position in Germany she worked as Senior Researcher at the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences in Zagreb, and she continues to lecture at the Department of Anthropology / Zagreb University. In 2000 she began employment with the foreign service of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and headed its office in Bosnia and Hercegovina from 2001 until 2005. Caroline Hornstein Tomic has a Master's degree in anthropology/European ethnology and sociology and a PhD in sociology. As a doctoral candidate she spent one year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge/USA from 1996-97. Caroline has long lasting consultancy experience with international and non-governmental organisations, embassies, and scientific institutions.
