Biography
Nicole Trujillo-Pagán, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at Wayne State University in the Department of Sociology and the Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies. Her research focuses on race and immigration. Her book project explains the role of race/ethnicity, culture and place in developing urban opportunity. Most recently, she has been working with immigrant women in Rome in order to expand our understanding of what some scholars have called “Do it Yourself Urbanism” and what many other scholars see as part of a broader effort to expand “right to the city” and the urban commons.
