Biography

Caroline Oliver is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the Institute of Education, UCL and affiliate researcher at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on transnational migration, including a longstanding research interest in international retirement migration and recent work on asylum seeker reception and social cohesion in the Netherlands, family migrants’ rights and their impact on integration and knowledge exchange work with European cities around migrant parental engagement. She has also worked as Reader and SL at the University of Roehampton, London, and lecturer at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. She was also researcher at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. She has a PhD in Sociology & Social Anthropology with Development Studies
