Standing Committee on Migrant Transnationalism

Call for abstracts: MigranTea

Deadline: 19th November, 2021

The Standing Committee on Migrant Transnationalism (MITRA) provides an arena within IMISCOE for exchange on migrant transnationalism. In this spirit, we are happy to announce MigranTea – informal sessions for PhDs candidates, working on the field of migrant transnationalism, to present their research and exchange ideas. The MigranTea sessions provide an opportunity for PhD students to share their research projects, tackle theoretical and methodological questions, as well as to network with other candidates working in the field of migrant transnationalism. In order to foster international networking and knowledge exchange among PhD students working on migrant transnationalism. MigranTea is organizing further sessions where PhD students will have the opportunity to present and discuss their research.

The sessions will focus on migrant transnationalism but with a wide and interdisciplinary perspective. The objective is to create a platform where PhD students receive feedback from fellow candidates. MITRA is aiming for 4 MigranTea sessions for this academic year; in these sessions, participants will have the opportunity to present their work, practice their presentation skills and receive feedback from peers.

The first call for papers is now open. Interested PhD students should submit an abstract here by November 19th

Short abstract deadline: 19 November 2021

Notification of acceptance: 28 November 2021
