Call for Presentations, Symposia and Dialogue Sessions: CESSMIR 2022 Conference

Deadline: 15 March, 2022

We are delighted to invite proposals for the CESSMIR Conference “Contemporary forms of racism and discrimination”, that will take place 18 - 21 September 2022 at Ghent University, in Belgium.

CESSMIR’s second biennial conference opens up an exchange platform for researchers, practitioners and policy makers working in the broad field of migration, integration and ethnic-cultural diversity. You are invited to share your questions and expertise on understanding and responding to contemporary forms of racism and discrimination from a broad, interdisciplinary approach. With experts working in different domains of society, including education, employment, health care, housing, media, deviance and crime, architecture, family, child support and social work, CESSMIR actively seeks contributions that speak to different audiences, but with a commonly shared focus on social exclusion.

You can submit proposals for individual presentations (abstract of no more than 2,000 characters, either in the main conference or the PhD pre-conference), symposia (focused group of 3- 4 presentations on a common theme and a discussant – 3,000 characters abstract + abstract for each contribution), dialogue sessions (a focused session, in which a societal issue is tackled in-depth and which brings academic and non-academic knowledge to the table – a proposal of no more than 4,000 characters) or other formats.

Deadline for submissions: 15th of March 2022
