Call for Papers | Mobilities, Social Reproduction and Global Inequalities: Feminist Approaches to International Migration

The Faculty of Sociology, University of A Coruña (Spain), announced a Call for Papers for the International Research Seminar Mobilities, Social Reproduction and Global Inequalities: New Approaches to Feminist Studies on International Migration, which will take place on 22–23 October 2026 at the Faculty of Sociology, University of A Coruña (Spain).

The seminar aims to foster scholarly exchange on women's migration, care work, social reproduction, and the ageing processes of migrant women from feminist and interdisciplinary perspectives. Paper proposals addressing, but not limited to, the following topics are welcome:

  • Women's migration and the international division of care labour
  • Transnational care and mobilities
  • Gender, age, and structural inequalities
  • Ageing processes among migrant women
  • Family strategies and support networks
  • Reproductive governance and public policies

Submission guidelines

The application should contain the following: 

  • Title of the paper
  • Abstract (maximum 300 words)
  • Five keywords
  • Short biographical note (maximum 100 words)
  • Institutional affiliation

Important dates

Abstract submission deadline: 10 July 2026
Notification of acceptance: 30 July 2026
Full paper submission (optional, for publication consideration): 5 October 2026
Languages: Contributions are welcome in Galician, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
