The 2026 IMISCOE Regional Forum will take place in Agadir, Morocco, from 28–30 October 2026, bringing together migration researchers to explore regional perspectives and research across and around the Mediterranean.
For the first time, the IMISCOE PhD Network is organising dedicated PhD activities in collaboration with Ibn Zohr University. The programme will bring together PhD researchers for a panel showcasing research on migration in, across, and from the Mediterranean, followed by an interactive workshop on how regional perspectives can enrich migration and diversity research in different geographical contexts.

Session 1 – Panel
This panel showcases the work of EuroMedMig PhD researchers, presenting how they approach migration research in, across, and to/from the Mediterranean. Each of the four panellists gives a 10-minute reflection, followed by a 20-minute moderated discussion with audience participation.

Session 2 – Workshop
Building on the panel discussion, this workshop invites PhD researchers to reflect on how regional perspectives can enrich migration and diversity research across different geographical contexts. Through group discussions, participants explore how concepts, methods, and insights from Mediterranean scholarship resonate with their own research sites and regions, fostering cross-regional dialogue and identifying shared analytical challenges.
