Workshop Series: Ethical and Innovative Research in Migration Studies - Participatory Approaches

This event is the first of a workshop series on the theme of exploring novel ways to do migration research. Inspired by the necessity to pave the way for more coherent methodological guidance in migration research, the organisers have put together a series of events with academics, practitioners and activists to discuss practices that could be applied to migration research.

About the Event

This workshop will bring together three speakers to discuss different ways to conceive and practice participatory approaches to research and academic production. Drawing from their professional and personal experiences, they will discuss what “participatory approaches” mean in the context of their work, the potential of these approaches and the challenges that they may involve. This will be followed by a discussion session with the audience with the hope to exchange opinions, ideas, practice, experiences from different professional and personal perspectives. No previous knowledge is required, we just want to learn from each other.
