Call for participation: International PhD Spring School “Production of Migration”, Osnabrück University

We are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for the upcoming International PhD Spring School “Production of Migration”, organized by the Collaborative Research Centre "Production of Migration" (SFB 1604) at Osnabrück University, taking place from April 14–17, 2026.

The Spring School provides an international and interdisciplinary space for PhD researchers to engage critically with the concept of migration – examining how it is produced through cultural, political, social, and historical processes, including the role of research itself. Bringing together doctoral researchers from diverse disciplines and at various stages, the Spring School invites reflexive and intersectional approaches to understanding migration, knowledge production, and the challenges of conducting research in highly politicized contexts.

The program will feature a keynote lecture, thematic sessions and workshops, as well as interactive formats. Confirmed speakers include (in alphabetical order): Prof. Dr. Ayşe Çağlar (University of Vienna), Prof. Dr. Janine Dahinden (University of Neuchâtel), Prof. Dr. Nina Glick Schiller (University of Manchester), Prof. Dr. Shahram Khosravi (Stockholm University), Prof. Dr. Valentina Mazzucato (Maastricht University), Dr. Nader Talebi (Humboldt University Berlin), and representatives from the IMISCOE PhD Network.

We welcome contributions from PhD researchers across disciplines and research approaches working on migration-related topics.
