About the webinar

Trust can shape the success or failure of care relationships. It may reflect confidence in the health and social systems of the host country—or continued reliance on providers and practices from the country of origin. Trust can take many forms, including the trust (or lack of same) of the migrant in the social/health systems of their new home, and continued trust in treatments, providers and assumptions taken from the place of origin.  The experiences of migrants offer a unique lens to examine how trust operates and what it reveals about the systems themselves.

Join us for a focused discussion with three expert speakers:

·       Prof. Monique Kremer, University of Amsterdam – The Price of Trust: Institutional Capital and the Welfare State

·       Dr. Elżbieta Czapka, University of Gdańsk – Trusted Sources? Migrants & Public Health Information

·       Dr. Freya Diedeirch, University of Bremen – Cultural differences in older immigrants’ health services use

Format: Three short presentations, followed by breakout discussions led by each speaker. We’ll reconvene for a plenary to share insights and identify key avenues for future research.

As part of IMISCOE’s Health Care and Social Services thematic group, this session aims to spark collaboration and inform planning for upcoming conferences and joint initiatives.

We look forward to connecting with colleagues committed to improving care and welfare experiences for migrant communities.
