Call for Standing Committee Coordinators: Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation

The Standing Committee on Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation (MIGCITPOL) is one of the longstanding IMISCOE research groups. Standing Committees involve research clusters that have been established for a longer period of time, and have a broad programme of activities and a broad audience that they serve within IMISCOE. Standing Committees also play a key role within the academic organization of the annual conferences.

MIGCITPOL is currently coordinated by Jean-Michel Lafleur and Marco Martiniello (University of Liège) and Maarten Vink (Maastricht University). In order to ensure rotation within the leadership of the Standing Committee, Jean-Michel, Marco and Maarten are standing down as coordinators at the upcoming IMISCOE Annual Conference in Barcelona.

With this call, we invite a team of two or three enthusiastic researchers to submit their nomination for the new leadership of the Standing Committee on Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation (MIGCITPOL). Ideally, the new leadership represents both geographic and gender diversity.

If you are interested, please submit a 1-page nomination (including a brief summary of your past IMISCOE activities and your plans for the Standing Committee, plus links to your personal websites) to Jean-Michel Lafleur (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Maarten Vink (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) by 15 May 2018 at the latest.

At a meeting of the Standing Committee at the IMISCOE Annual Conference in Barcelona all present members of the Standing Committee will decide on the election of the new Standing Committee coordinators.

See for Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation
