2026 IMISCOE Annual Conference PhD Activities

Thank you for your interest in the IMISCOE PhD Activities taking place during the 2026 IMISCOE Annual Conference!

This year’s programme invites participants to reflect on the role of community, curiosity, and engagement in the research process through an inspiring panel discussion and an interactive workshop designed especially for early-career researchers.

📅 Monday, 29 June 2026
⏰ 09:00–12:00 CET
💻 Online

09:00–10:10 | Panel (Hybrid) From Methods to Meaning: Community-Engaged Research in Practice

How do researchers meaningfully engage with communities in their work? What opportunities, ethical questions, and challenges emerge along the way?

This panel brings together scholars from diverse disciplines and research backgrounds to discuss how community-engaged approaches shape research processes, methodologies, and outcomes. Through personal reflections and discussion, panelists will explore the possibilities and complexities of conducting research collaboratively and responsibly.

10:30–12:00 | Workshop (Online) From ‘What If?’ to ‘Now What?’ Curiosity in Your Research Journey

Curiosity often drives research in unexpected directions. This interactive workshop encourages participants to reflect on how curiosity, relationships, and community engagement influence their academic journeys. Through guided discussions and collective exchange, participants will explore how different forms of engagement shape research questions, methods, and knowledge production.
