The Collaborative Research Centre "Production of Migration" at Osnabrück University has launched a new podcast, Production Site, aimed at German- and English-speaking audiences interested in migration studies. The podcast explores migration not as a given fact, but as the product of societal negotiation—shaped by categories, policies, and institutions. Each episode offers insights into reflexive migration research as well as critical, interdisciplinary discussion with international migration scholars.
The first six episodes of season one are already out, covering topics such as pioneering migration researcher Czarina Wilpert, journalist Gerhard Kromschröder's undercover reporting on migrant labor and everyday racism, cohesion in superdiverse neighborhoods, the contested politics of urban space and migration, climate (im)mobilities in the US, and the relationship between migration research and activism in an age of rising authoritarianism and eroding migrants’ rights.
