Special issue on ‘End-of-life Care and Rituals in Contexts of Post-migration Diversity in Europe’

Being the fruit of two panels held at the IMISCOE 2014 conference in Madrid, a special issue of the Journal of Intercultural Studies has just been published on the theme of migrant dying and death, edited by Alistair Hunter and Eva Soom Ammann.

The seven empirical papers cover themes such as palliative care for migrant patients and their families; the importance of  a religious funeral; the role of undertakers in mediating between  migrant communities and state administrators; preferred place of burial in a migratory context; and the deaths at sea of illegalised migrants crossing the Mediterranean.

For those who do not have institutional access to the journal, there are 50 FREE Prints of the editorial introduction.
