Call for applications for new editor-in-chief of the journal Comparative Migration Studies

The journal of Comparative Migration Studies (CMS) was founded 10 years ago as a journal for comparative and open access publishing for the broad field of migration studies. The journal is associated to the International Migration Research Network IMISCOE and is published by Springer. It is now a ranked journal (SSCI) with an impact score #4.4.

 

CMS is led by two editors-in-chief and is currently calling for applications for one position as editor-in-chief. The editors-in-chief are responsible for overall strategic management and quality control of the journal, leading the editorial board and working together closely with the journal manager for the operations of the journal. The editors-in-chief are also responsible for connections with IMISCOE and with Springer. Finally, the editors-in-chief are responsible for oversight and quality control over the journal’s review proceedings.

 

Applications are welcomed with particular reference to the following selection criteria:

  • A strong commitment to contribute to the field of migration studies, including theoretical, conceptual and methodological developments in the field, as well as the globalization of the field.
  • Experience with working in the field of migration studies in the broad sense and having a good oversight of the field.
  • Being excited to work in a global editorial team to lay the strategic foundation for the journal’s future as well as managing the quality of the journal.
  • Experience with the journal CMS in particular, as editorial board member or advisory board member, or another concrete experience with the journal.
  • Contribution to the diversity of the journal’s management, in line with the diversity policies of the IMISCOE network.
